Associate Life
Associate/Partner Relationships
Each associate is assigned a supervising partner to provide training and guidance and to coordinate associate project assignments and training by other partners. Partners also organize seminars and training sessions for all associates.
Associate Participation in the Firm’s Administration/Committees
Goodsill associates participate on the Associate Development Committee and the Hiring and Recruiting Committee. Associates also participate on the Holoholo Committee, which is in charge of attorney and firm-wide social activities. Associate input is often sought and considered on policy decisions for the firm, and associates are asked to serve on ad hoc committees, where appropriate.
Training Programs For Associates
Regular in-house training sessions are held on strategy development, such as litigation techniques. Roundtable discussions on a variety of topics, including real estate, corporate and tax matters are also held. Seminar sessions cover new developments in law; meetings are held on the business of practicing law, such as handling conflicts between clients and business development.
Goodsill pays for in-state continuing legal education (CLE) or other approved educational programs. The firm pays for out-of-state training programs if approved by the Managing Partner
Associate Evaluation and Partnership Track
Each associate’s performance is evaluated annually. Current practice is that after seven and one-half years with Goodsill, associates who have met the high standards of the firm are considered for partnership.
