Career Overviews

Goodsill is a diverse, dynamic firm with attorneys who provide a full range of legal services. As one of Hawaii’s oldest and largest firms, we have developed a strong base of local, national, and international clients. We work in all of the traditional areas of corporate law plus a number of specialized areas as described in Services.  As a healthy balance to office hours, and with encouragement from the firm, many of our attorneys are active in community organizations, continuing legal education programs, and the Hawaii State Bar Association and other professional organizations.

Goodsill offers a congenial and cooperative work environment, which results in legal work of the highest quality. We seek applicants who will contribute to that environment.

In evaluating applicants, we regard academic achievement and the ability to work well with others as the most important factors. We also consider law review work, moot court competition, academic performance in and the quality of the law school, undergraduate academic performance and school quality, the nature and extent of an applicant's legal experience and extracurricular activities, and other work experiences.

We are interested in well-rounded, personable individuals who have the ability to do challenging legal work, the personality to be effective dealing with clients and other attorneys, and the potential to achieve excellence in the practice of law. In our hiring decisions, we do not discriminate on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, marital status, age, disability, race, color, religion, veteran status, citizenship, ancestry or national origin.

NOTICE: If you are contacting Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel LLP or one of its lawyers regarding a possible representation, e-mail is not the recommended way to engage an attorney. The sending or receipt of an e-mail does not create an attorney-client relationship. To obtain legal counsel or legal services from Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel LLP, you must first establish an attorney-client relationship with the firm. Until you have gone through the firm’s intake process and receive an engagement letter from a Goodsill attorney, you have not become a client of the firm. The best way to inquire about a possible new representation is to call (808) 547-5600. You will be put in touch with an attorney who can determine that there is no conflict of interest and that the firm is willing and otherwise able to accept your engagement. If a determination is made to accept the engagement, you will receive an engagement letter. You are not a client unless and until you receive an engagement letter.

Please do not send us any information or documents before you have received an engagement letter. Any information or documents sent prior to your receipt of an engagement letter cannot be treated as private, confidential or otherwise protected, and we may be able to represent a party adverse to you even if the information you submit to us could be used against you.
