Pro Bono

Goodsill also gives back to the community through pro bono legal services. The firm encourages its attorneys to participate in programs that serve those who need, but are unable to afford, legal services. The firm provides billable hour credit to its attorneys for these pro bono efforts.

Over the years, Goodsill attorneys have been involved with Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii (VLSH), which refers low-income clients to attorneys willing to accept pro bono cases. Goodsill attorneys have handled a wide range of pro bono cases referred by VLSH, and the firm has been honored by VLSH for its extensive commitment to the organization. Goodsill attorneys have also served as officers and directors of Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, as volunteer mediators at the Mediation Center of the Pacific, and have provided pro bono legal services to other organizations on occasion.
