IP Attorney Martin Loui Coaches Teams of New Entrepreneurs at UH Startup Weekend

Nov 5, 2013

Invited back this year as a coach, Intellectual Property attorney Martin Loui, mentored and provided support to teams of new entrepreneurs who worked through their intellectual property issues with new product scoping, market validation and business case formulation for the various startup companies at this year’s University of Hawai’i (UH) Startup weekend competition.  “It is inspiring to see new products formed from the creative combination of business and technology intersecting with design, marketing and social awareness,” said Loui, who was among several coaches, assembled by UH to provide a range of industry and business talent, to guide the startup teams through their business development process.

Goodsill further supported the up-and-coming entrepreneurs by providing a sponsorship of the UH Startup Weekend event, which is a regional competition of the global non-profit Startup Weekend organization, headquartered in Seattle, WA, and affiliated with the Kauffman Foundation.  The event was produced by the Shidler College of Business-Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurs (PACE) of the University of Hawai‘i–Mānoa.

The firm commends the passionate entrepreneurs as they assemble in teams to formulate their new business plans, harness their innovative ideas, build their new products and present their proposed startup launch all within the 54-hour long competition.  Goodsill congratulates all entrants, the runner-ups and winners in each category!
