The Biden Administration’s focus on prioritizing a healthful environment, clean energy, and sustainability of our natural resources sharply contrasts with the past four years of the Trump Administration’s efforts to deregulate the industry, defund agencies, and debunk science.
This Seminar will cover the rebuilding of the federal regulatory landscape already underway with respect to the programs overseen by the Department of Interior, Department of Commerce, Environmental Protection Agency, and Council on Environmental Quality, as well as across-agency initiatives on climate policy and environmental justice. At the international level as well, the U.S. is actively reengaging in the upcoming “Biodiversity and Climate Decade.” From executive appointments to executive orders, the Biden Administration is seeking to restaff and reshape the agencies that have environmental and natural resources responsibilities to equip them to face the major challenges of our time. All of these changes have important implications for Hawai‘i.
Join us for an overview of the transformation of the federal environmental law and policy landscape.
