Mar 17, 2017
(Honolulu, Hawai‘i – March 17, 2017) On March 15, 2017 United States District Judge Derrick Watson issued a nationwide temporary restraining order (see link below), ruling that President Donald Trump’s revised Executive Order likely violated the Establishment Clause of the United States Constitution. Judge Watson’s deliberations were aided by numerous “friends of the court” briefs. Goodsill attorneys filed amicus briefs on behalf of Human Rights First, Kids in Need of Defense, Tahirih Justice Center, HIAS, Anti-Defamation League, the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council, Muslim United States citizens, and an interfaith coalition consisting of Rabbis, Sikhs, Episcopal Bishop, and an Imam, as well as Christian, Jewish and Muslim associations.
