We Strive To Be The Best By Hiring The Best

Goodsill is a diverse firm providing a full range of legal services. As one of Hawai‘i’s oldest and largest firms, we’ve developed a strong base of local, national and international clients. We work in all the traditional areas of corporate law, plus a number of specialized areas.

We offer a competitive compensation plan and a collaborative, dynamic work environment, which results in legal work of the highest quality. We seek applicants who will contribute to that environment and strive to bring out the best in those around them.

In evaluating applicants, we are interested in well-rounded, personable individuals who have the ability to do challenging legal work, the personality to be effective dealing with clients and the potential to achieve excellence in the practice of law. In our hiring decisions, we do not discriminate on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, marital status, age, disability, race, color, religion, veteran status, citizenship, ancestry or national origin.

As a healthy balance, and with the full support of the firm, many of our attorneys are active in community organizations, continuing legal education programs, and the Hawai’i State Bar Association, as well as other professional organizations.

For inquiries regarding opportunities for attorneys, please send an email through this link. For inquiries regarding all other job opportunities, please contact Human Resources.

Please take some time to learn a little more about what it means to be a part of the Goodsill family, and we think you’ll understand exactly what we mean when we say “Hawai‘i is different. And so are we.”

Associate Life

Associate/Partner Relationships
Each associate is assigned a supervising partner to provide training and guidance. Partners also organize seminars and training sessions for all associates.

Associate Participation in the Firm’s Administration and Committees
Goodsill associates participate in many ways that impact firm strategy and operations. Associate input is often sought and considered on policy decisions for the firm, and associates are asked to serve on committees, where appropriate.

Training Programs for Associates
Regular in-house training sessions are held on strategy development, such as litigation techniques. Roundtable discussions on a variety of topics, including real estate, corporate and tax matters, are also held. Goodsill pays for in-state continuing legal education (CLE) or other approved educational programs. The firm pays for out-of-state training programs if approved by the Executive Committee.

Associate Evaluation and Partnership Track
Each associate’s performance is evaluated annually. Associates who have met the high standards of the firm are considered for partnership.

Salary and Bonus Structure
The firm has a competitive compensation plan for associates as well as a yearly bonus policy.

We provide up to five weeks of paid bar leave to study for and take the Hawai‘i bar examination.
