A Defining Voice in Hawai‘i Products Liability Law
Let Us Be Your Voice
Goodsill’s products liability group has been handling product liability claims for more than 40 years and has been involved in most of the seminal appellate cases that define modern Hawai‘i products liability law. Our attorneys have defended strict liability, warranty, negligence and failure-to-warn claims against manufacturers, defending a diverse array of products in the process.
Attorneys in this group have also been honored by their inclusions in the most prestigious trial organizations, including the American College of Trial Lawyers, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Best Lawyers in America and the International Who’s Who of Product Liability Defense Lawyers. In addition, we author and annually update the Hawai‘i law section of Products Liability Desk Reference, a 50-state compendium published by Aspen Law & Business.
Our work includes defense in the following areas:
- Product liability: We have defended manufacturers of such products as construction equipment, automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, contact lenses, agricultural products, aircraft and aircraft component parts, helicopters, boats, ships, warehousing lift devices, scuba tanks, sports equipment, personal watercrafts, pharmaceuticals, electrical equipment, chemical products, industrial microtunnellers and meat cutters.
- Mass tort litigation: We have represented E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company in hundreds of Hawai‘i cases involving the fungicide Benlate. We have also served as local counsel for manufacturers of various products in Hawai’i asbestos litigation. In addition, we routinely serve as local counsel in high-profile mass tort cases involving drugs and medical devices as well as other types of products.
