Chiako Fukushima has joined Goosill, which has over 50 attorneys representing local, national and international clients. Goodsill lawyers handle a wide range of business and legal matters, extending personalized legal services with cutting-edge resources.
Chiako joins the team as an Associate, and mainly practices in the firm’s captive insurance and Japan practice groups.
Born and raised in Japan, Chiako completed her LL.B. degree from Keio University in Tokyo before graduating summa cum laude from the University of Hawaii, William S. Richardson School of Law (J.D.). She also received honors in the CALI Excellence in the Future Awards in Evidence, and Lawyering Fundamentals II. During her time at UH, Chiako served as a Research Assistant for Professor Mark Levin, assisting with research on various Japanese legal issues. She also worked as an intern at immigration and employment law firms in Honolulu. Her bar admissions include Hawaii and the U.S. District Court, District of Hawaii.
