Goodsill recently participated in the 2024 CICA International Conference held from March 10-12 in Scottsdale, Arizona. The event, known for bringing together top captive professionals worldwide in a domicile-neutral setting, served as a platform to explore innovative uses of captives and outline best practices in the industry.

Among the attendees were Goodsill attorneys Gerald Yoshida and Paul Shimomoto, both of whom shared their insights and expertise in the captive industry. Yoshida moderated the “If it Ain’t Broken, Just Tweak It – Captive Domicile Update.” session. This panel delved into the future of the captive insurance industry, particularly from a regulatory standpoint, providing attendees with valuable perspectives on evolving practices.

Meanwhile, Shimomoto was a panelist in the “Ask the Experts” session, where his experience and knowledge contributed to insightful discussions among attendees. This roundtable format allowed for open-ended, “ask-what-you-will” questions from seasoned industry experts, who provided practical advice and solutions for existing and prospective captive owners as well as other industry professionals.

Goodsill‘s presence at the conference underscored its commitment to staying at the forefront of developments in the captive insurance industry while also highlighting its attorneys’ active involvement in shaping industry dialogue and best practices.
